TOLOSA
Tolosa
is a beautiful town of Gipuzkoa, with 19175 inhabitants and it is near of
Oria´s river. There are a lot of great places to visit but the most famous
places are Aldundi palace and Zerkausia.
The
Aldundi palace, the building that is in Gipuzkoa in Tolosa´s town hall. Nowadays it´s called “Antonio Maria Labaien Kultur Etxea”. Antonio Maria Labaien
(1898-1994) was a writer, and he was Tolosa´s mayor so the name of the palace
is in his honour.
The
palace is in the front of Tolosa´s old side, in the triangle square and near
the “Gaztela” door.
Between
1844 and 1854 was the residence of government of Gipuzkoa, when Tolosa was the
capital. It has the neoclassic style and in 1980 was reformed and now as you
know is the “Antonio Maria Labaien Kultur Etxea”.
The
market of the Zerkausia is an architectural enclosure placed in the old town of
Tolosa. It was built between 1899 and 1900 and projected by
Juan Alejandro Múgica.
The market of Tolosa (Guipuzcoa), which is celebrated every Saturday for centuries, is considered to be one of the most typical market of the Basque Country.

It
has three different scenes: The first one, there are sold the most
representative autochthonous products of the zone, the second one, the
Vegetable square receives a market of flowers and plants, and the last one, in
the Euskal Herria square puts to the sale textile products.
The
structure, it is a question of a longitudinal construction opened by three of
his sides, parallel to the river, with round arches. His support in piles on
the river Oria, gives him a singular vision to the set that it forms with the
bridge of Navarre. Of metallic structure, it has three rows of thin and slender
columns that insert continuous banks, also of iron, on the soil. In the year
2006 it was submitted to an important remodeling.
